I do still find the D'Argo/Aeryn chemistry more interesting than Aeryn/John during the first 3rd or so of S1 (I also love the Zhaan/John vibe)
Oh yes! If memory serves me right, some thoughts were given to developing this thread, and the seeds were indeed there in the first part of S1.
A nod to the "road not taken" is given (IMHO) at the end of The Flax, when J & A try to deny that anything of import happened on the pod, and they both agree that if Aeryn had been with D'Argo or John with Zhaan, things would have followed the same course.
For me it's both more natural and less expected...that sounds negative but I don't mean it to be
The unexpected would have made Farscape even more ground-breaking than it already was. And this from someone who enjoys immensely the J&A dynamics... :-)
