I'd say this was arguably the worst episode of the series, but I don't know who would argue it isn't. Maybe people who really, really, REALLY hate DALD.

I cheated. There are only ten pictures as numbered, but I used fourteen caps.

I couldn't stop myself; I think it's this awful bug that almost goes away only to attack again with a vengeance. Someone call a Diagnosian.

#7 isn't all that 'wow', but it's one of my favorite early John moments. Watching Homesick John helped Homesick Me a hell of a lot when I moved overseas, and when he gets all teary and clutch-y, even knowing she isn't real, I just want to cuddle him.

They’ve Got A Secret in ten pictures.

I loved the set I did for DNAMS, so of course I hate this one. This is a rarely watched episode for me, but unlike TGIFA, making this picspam did not make me want to change that. Usually I have way too many pictures to choose from; this time I struggled to find ten compelling images. The plot may be decent (and it's certainly a pivotal episode, with Talyn's conception, and our first knowledge of Jothee and Lo'Laan) but visually I find it incredibly boring. Farscape did a lot of bottle episodes, but usually Moya is still beautiful, the lighting and shot composition are good, the characters look interesting...I don't know what was going on here.

But I've learned that people have extremely varied taste when it comes to graphics, so maybe someone will like it :-)

A note on how I do these: I load the episode into VideoStudio and scroll through it several times. Sometimes I will have specific scenes in mind before I begin, but I cap anything that catches my eye. Then I sort through the caps and try to find images that are both visually striking and which hopefully convey something meaningful about the plot or character. Often a cap I thought would be perfect turns out horrible once edited and resized, and "action" caps (such as D'Argo falling into space in this episode) are usually too blurry and/or dark to work with. Or a scene that was vital to the episode seems meaningless when reduced to a single frame.

Once I've edited all the workable caps I weed through them, placing them in "yes" and "no" folders until there are only 10 in "yes". And then I share them with you =D

It's getting harder and harder to only choose ten caps, but I must be strong and steadfast! #3 was going to be a bonus this time, but that is a dangerous road to go down, especially this early in the game.

Thank God It’s Friday, Again in ten pictures.

This is an episode I rarely rewatch so I was very surprised when I wound up with 18 images and didn’t want to part with any of them. Culling was difficult and I’m not sure if I made the right choices.

It’s also a much more smiley episode than I remember… John & Aeryn make the best faces.

Throne for a Loss in ten pictures.

I thought going through these early episodes would strengthen my current John/Aeryn leanings, but instead it’s reminding me of how I kind of sort of used to ship Aeryn/D’Argo…I thought they had a lively chemistry and more intriguing story possibilities at this point in the series. I liked John better as a character and a man, but I so wanted to see Aeryn & D’Argo hook up before she fell for John. The whole "I hate you but I get you because we're both kick-ass warriors stuck on a ship of fools" thing is hot and her connecting first with a man who is more mentally, rather than physically, similar appeals to me. *hides from flames and exploding heads*

I, E.T. in ten pictures. This is my least favorite episode of the series so choosing images that spoke to me was a bit of a struggle.  I am glad it's the second episode. Over and done! Onward and upward!

The lack of Rygel should be rectified soon. My favorite moments for him in these first two episodes are when he spits in John's face and bites a hunk out of Aeryn's arm. Neither turned out particularly well when I tried to capture it with a single shot. Rygel is a man of action!
