My pitiful entry for the getMeltdown! challenge...I wanted to do more, but I've been sick, and can't.
I Should Have Known This From The Start

1. Elements by A Fine Frenzy. Aeryn cannot accept Moya John in Fractures and I-Yensch, You-Yensch.
I died the day you disappeared, so why would you be welcome here?
Ride the wind that brought you back away
No you can't come in
No you can't come in
Oh the elements I do not fear but I fall apart when you appear
Cos you are the greatest
The greatest disaster
2. Lucky You by The National. John struggles to understand Aeryn's loss and his unchanged love for her. (As an aside, this is one of my very favorite songs - LOVE The National).
You coulda made a safer bet
But what you break is what you get
You wake up in the bed you make
I think you made a big mistake
You own me
There's nothing you can do
You own me
You own me
Lucky you
3. Walk Away by Bree Sharp. Aeryn cannot watch John die again.
The road is turning for me,
the road is turning for you
The light is red like a fire,
but you drive on through
I stay behind and hear you call
"You should have known this from the start"
I'm left with, I'm left with
a piece of my heart
4. Prisoners of War by Bear McCreary.
This is an extended instrumental piece that makes me feel their separation and struggle from DWTB through Twice Shy.
5. World Without by A Fine Frenzy. There is nothing between them.
The weight of a mountain
The skin off your knees
From climbing back to me
We can work this out
I believe, although it seems impossible now
Keep the world without
Only the two of us count
Two voices loud
It is possible now
Though they wore us down
We'll find our way again

Date: 2011-09-29 12:45 pm (UTC)The picture I used is my favorite John/Aeryn moment of the entire series...when he reaches out to touch her with his finger and she opens her eyes for a second. It just makes my heart swell.
You might like this song too - my favorite by The National: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-KhGUE_KjIo
