OMG! These are so good. Especially the AC set, it's stellar. Each one of the icons in it is wonderful, although my favorites are the first three. Already snurched 3 cause the soft blueness is beyond pretty, but I'm thinking of taking the other two as well cause 1 is such a pretty crop and the icon is just so emotional, and 2 has striking contrast and a lovely image choice again.

The category is great too, I love that you chose just one relationship (though I'm really, really surprised not to see any girl friendship here! Always thought you were a hardcore fan of those! :) ). Chi/John is so cute, and I love how it progresses with the moments you chose. The last one is my favorite cause it's so dramatic and unusual, the dark coloring fits the mood perfectly and it's just eye-catching (okay, if I look at it any longer I'll end up snurching that one as well..), but the rest all look lovely too. 3 is super cute, and I love how the theme seems to be the moments where they somehow support each other. At least that's what my eyes see :) It's lovely.

The themes are fantastic. My favorites are Required Texture (yay, I was waiting for that one to see what you'd do since there usually aren't that many visible textures in your work. That looks fantastic, so unexpected and different, love the way the texture was used and the colors! Everytime you 'have to' use textures for some theme they always end up gorgeous, so it really makes me wonder why you usually don't use them?), Crossover (okay, my limited knowledge of pop culture totally fails me here and I have no idea what the crossover part is, but whatever, it looks gorgeous! Love the subtly greenish tint and the darkness with a softened contrast. Again the word to come to mind is unusual. The coloring really makes it, even though the crop is lovely too), OffCenter (love that you chose a lower crop, I think I have a lower crop phase or something, and the image choice is perfect again - love the crazy hair!), and Recycle, which is just so pretty. And yay, your first fake background looks really good, LOVE the texture(?) you used, all the colors fit so well with the image - did you do fake background again already with OOC? It's looking awesome too. Love the background work and the image choice. Oh, and Faceless is very pretty too, love the interesting geometrical background.

I also really like the original choice of Smile and especially the lightness and casual fun feel of it, the crop and contrast of Fashion (and those two look especially good side by side like that - they're such opposites but both pretty!), and Looking Up is really cute and love the tiny text detail.

You said you were worried about repeating yourself if you choose Chiana, but I definitely think that didn't happen at all. So many of these are completely unexpected and something new from you. Of course some of these still represent the more 'classic' nebari_rebel (I'd say Faceless and AC2 mostly?), but that's good as well cause when something works there's no reason to abandon the style *completely*. I say this is a perfect balance of old and new, and I hate that you had to post these already cause now the bar is set soooo high D:

Saying THANK YOU for this incredible feedback hardly seems adequate, but THANK YOU! I originally saw it when I was very down and haven't had a chance to respond, but thinking about it made me feel all kinds of good :) And your last paragraph really made me blush *hugs*

I was very frustrated with this set while I was working on it, but the instant I posted I loved them. I think it was all the new challenges, including having made so many Chi icons already. I know I could have done the same moment with a bit of a different crop or coloring, but that doesn't seem in the spirit of things, to me.

My initial idea for Category actually was to have a Zhaan, a Jool, a Sikozu, an Aeryn, and a Moya icon, but I found myself capping John/Chi scenes whenever I scrolled past in Ulead, and before I knew it I had 5 icons I thought worked well together - I liked how they are supporting eachother, alternating who is behind who, and facing each other in the center. I didn't want to waste an opportunity to post them all together like that, so I went for it.

I'm glad you love Required Texture - I'm feeling it now, but seriously, that is at LEAST my 15th attempt LOL I had a hell of a time with that; everything looked bad to my eye, or boring. Crossover is The X-Files slogan, and thanks for the compliments on Fake Background! I made the texture myself, cutting out a bit of a photograph and then using a brush on it. I'll post that here, feel free to use. I also made the background for OOC by repeating a brush pattern on a white background. The background for Crossover was made by putting a green gradient over a black background.

I am definitely enjoying textures more now than I used to, and seeing their possibilities :)

There were more obvious choices for Looking Up, and I made a few icons that were probably more objectively pretty and/or compelling, but for some reason I was really taken with my coloring and crop here and had to use it. The tiny text says 'don't leave me this way' :)

I think it was actually really clever to use just text in crossover. If the challenge was to include 'a person or a thing' from another show then yeah, text should count as a 'thing'! I never come to think of anything so out of the box :p

Okay, what is going on, first you hate textures and now you're even MAKING them :D I wish I knew how to make my own textures! I guess it's not that difficult but when I look at the stuff others have already done I'm like 'wow, I could never create something this pretty on my own so why bother trying'. Yours are super cool. Keep me posted if you by some chance decide to make more, I'm always looking for great new textures (even though I just counted that I have 25458 textures. I might be crazy. It's not like I'll ever have time to make that many icons!).
