Aeryn/Chiana in 92 words

Not even a microfic and a shifting POV but I wanted to write something today.



Chiana presses her lips to Aeryn’s, the other woman’s hips sharp against her palms. Her lips are cool, dry, and Chiana moistens them with quick little strokes of her tongue.

“Chiana,” Aeryn says. She turns her head but makes no move to leave, closes her eyes as Chiana’s tongue traces the line of her jaw to her throat. The Nebari’s breath is warm against her skin, her lips fastening on her pulse.

Aeryn feels her own name murmured against the curve of her neck, heavy with want, and pulls Chiana to her.

Well... surprising and a little unsettling, of course, but told with such light strokes that it could be either a dream or an impressionist painting - if I'm making any sense.
I love they way you *suggest* the scene rather than detailing it, and somehow this choice makes the images more lingering, like the afterimage after a flash of light.

Thank you so much! You're making sense ;) And I'm flattered you read and commented despite the pairing (or maybe you're like me with Chiana - can't resist Aeryn fic no matter how short or what's going on LOL).

I *completely* understand being unsettled, I felt more than a little unsettled about this pairing until fairly recently. Some lovely graphics on Tumblr and two most excellent fics swayed my opinion. I'm easily swayed by good fic and will ship/believe anything if it's well-written, even if it's just for the length of the fic =D

I don't ship-ship it, but I'm intrigued enough by the idea and the dynamics of the relationship to read others' fic and play around with it a little myself.

Yes, this is exactly how I felt, but could not find the right words to express it.
Being transported elsewhere by a story, without need for conscious effort: because what matters is the journey. And you accomplished that very well.

And I completely agree on the idea being intriguing: when it's developed with such a light, dexterous touch, it can only succeed in its goal.

Although I am not into the pairing as such..it reads beautifully as always. This just made me wonder...did we ever find out or even get a hint of what the PKs position would be on same sex fluid relieving encounters? I never wondered until now...

As I said to Nym above, liking this pairing is new to me...I'm still not 100% sold and think it works only in very specific circumstances, but have been seduced by some very good fics!

I never really thought about the PK stance on homosexual encounters either...my first instinct would be to say they wouldn't care. Only the level of emotion matters. Now I'm not so sure...but I'm not sure why I'm not sure ;)

I keep thinking of the flashback in TWWW, with the guys jeering at Aeryn for being too good to clean up with them. It makes me feel like it's a society that would call out any difference, anything that may set one soldier apart from the majority.

Well done. Like everyone else, I can see this pairing in some instances. I really don't think PKs are all that uptight about their pairings; there was just way too much sexual tension between Henta and Aeryn for me to believe they have a problem with it.

I definitely see Chiana as open to all options. Aeryn herself...well, I think it depends on the situation. Now, if you think you might expand the fic, I vote for it to be Aeryn's dream and she decides to do something about it. As for motivation for Aeryn...I think she'd be at the lowest of low points. When she comes back to Moya after the talyn thing, she's really kind of all alone...

In case you were asking or wondering... :-) I could always mind my own business too.
